International Evenings

Half of what the club exists for happens over food and conversation rather than in a talk. This series collects the evenings where someone shares where they’re from, or where we work through the practical side of living here.

The kinds of evening

• Cooking events — a member cooks something from their home country, and everybody eats. These are consistently the best-attended things we do.
• Cultural exchange — presentations and conversations about members’ home countries, and about the current state of the world.
• Life in Austria — how work, bureaucracy, housing, and founding a company actually function here. Practical, specific, from people who have done it.
• German conversation — informal practice with residents of Hagenberg, which is also how the club connects to the town rather than sitting apart from it.

Hosting one is genuinely easy, and we will help. If you have a dish or a story, that is already the whole idea.

Who runs them

Nobody yet, and that is the honest answer. Each evening is hosted by whoever brings the dish or the story, and what this format is missing is one person who owns the calendar: picks the dates, finds the cook, and tells us what they need. If you would like that to be you, say so - it is a smaller job than it sounds, and you would not be doing it alone.
