Get involved
Build this club with us.
A few hours a month. You won't be doing it alone.
Softwarepark Hagenberg is full of interesting people: students, researchers, founders, engineers, from everywhere and from right here. We want a place where they meet. Swap ideas over a coffee or a beer, find people who think like you, start a project together - maybe even a company. Internationals and Austrians together, because that mix is the whole point.
What you get out of it
- Work with great people. Ambitious, curious people from all over the world, and from just down the corridor.
- It counts as work experience. You get a written confirmation of what you did, for your CV and your next interview.
- Be part of the plans. The core team decides what the club does. Your ideas actually happen.
- A room for your idea. You bring it, we help you run it. If it needs money, you can raise it through the club.
- Learn by doing. Organising events, finding sponsors, writing grant applications, marketing.
Keep the club running. What makes the rest possible.
People, contacts, money and the room itself. This is the core team: the people who meet once a month and decide what happens next. Each role is a few hours a month, you can share it with a friend, and you can stop whenever you need to.
Founders and ideas
2-4 hours a month
Bring together the people in the Softwarepark who want to build something - founders, researchers and students with an idea, people looking for a co-founder.
Be in the room when something new starts.
I'd like this oneSoftwarepark contact
2-4 hours a month
Keep the Softwarepark and its company network in the loop: what we do, what they plan, where we can work together.
A direct line to the people who run the Softwarepark.
I'd like this onePartnerships
2-4 hours a month
Be our contact to the FH, the student union, student groups and clubs like SKILL. Shared events, and telling each other's members.
You will know everyone who organises anything in Hagenberg.
I'd like this oneSponsorship
3-6 hours a month
Ask companies in the Softwarepark to support the club, as a sponsor or a supporting member. We have the material ready.
Direct contact with the companies here.
I'd like this oneSocial media and marketing
3-6 hours a month
Post on Instagram, make posters, have ideas. The event graphics are made automatically.
Something real for your portfolio.
I'd like this oneWelcome and buddies
Whenever you are around
Say hello to new people and introduce them to others.
You will know everybody.
I'd like this onePublic funding
3-6 hours a month
Find grants that fit us and write the applications with us.
Grant writing, which few people know how to do.
I'd like this oneEvent sponsors
1-3 hours per event
Find one company to pay for pizza and drinks at one evening.
The easiest way to try fundraising.
I'd like this oneLounge keyholders
One evening a month
Open the lounge one evening a month and look after it while you are there.
You make the lounge a place people can just drop by.
I'd like this onePhotos
The events you come to
Take photos at the events you go to anyway and send us the best ones.
Your photos on the site, with your name.
I'd like this oneWebsite and Discord
2-4 hours a month
Small changes to this website and keeping an eye on Discord.
A real website to point to.
I'd like this oneSupplies
1-2 hours a month
Keep snacks, drinks and coffee stocked, from the club budget.
I'd like this oneRun an event. The fun part.
Own a format, or try a single evening first. Event owners are part of the core team too.
AI Builder Nights
4-8 hours a month
Give a talk on something you built or understood with AI, or bring in someone who has - pick a date, open the evening. Every month or two, as you like.
Meet the people doing interesting work in the Softwarepark.
I'd like this oneAI Media Nights
4-8 hours a month
Start the format: show images or video you made with AI, or a pipeline you built around a model like Seedance - or bring in someone who has. Pick a date, open the evening. Every month or two, as you like.
Meet the artists and makers in and around the Softwarepark.
I'd like this oneCompany and research visits
2-4 hours a month
Arrange a visit or a lunch talk at a company or research institute in the Softwarepark. Easiest if you start with your own.
See how the Softwarepark works from the inside.
I'd like this oneInternational Evenings
3-6 hours a month
Find someone who wants to share their country - food, music, a talk - and help them run the evening.
Meet someone new every time.
I'd like this oneKids Club
One afternoon a month, plus 2-3 hours to prepare
A weekend afternoon of experiments and games for children from the Softwarepark, international and Austrian. The first one is being planned.
The children make friends, and so do the parents.
I'd like this oneYour own format
You decide
Project evenings, a hike, a film night, anything. Tell us the idea; we give you room, people and budget.
Your idea, really happening.
I'd like this oneOne dinner
Just once
Cook something from home for the International Dinner on 19 November. We do the room, the shopping budget and the invitations.
I'd like this oneOne evening beside someone who has done it
Just once
Co-host a board game night with Max and Markus, or a German conversation evening with Bettina, and then decide whether you want one of your own.
I'd like this oneThe board. Have a real say.
The board decides what the club does, where the money goes and which way it grows. Endre and Max already sit on it; these seats are still open. The jobs themselves are small, and you can hand them on at the next general meeting.
Treasurer
Kassier*in
2-4 hours a month
Keep track of money in and out, and the membership fees once we collect them.
A vote on what the club does, and real finance experience.
I'd like this oneSecretary
Schriftführer*in
1-3 hours a month
Write short notes of our meetings and keep the member list.
A vote on what the club does, and a look at how an association works.
I'd like this oneTwo auditors
Rechnungsprüfer*innen
2-4 hours a year
Check the accounts once a year. The law needs two people outside the board.
Not on the board, but the club cannot run without you.
I'd like this oneWhere this is going
This year
- A complete board, and a core team of 10-15 people that meets once a month.
- Every format has somebody who owns it.
- The first company sponsors and a first public funding application.
- Membership fees start, and pay for snacks, drinks and a proper coffee machine.
Next year
- A growing member base - students, researchers and employees, internationals and Austrians.
- Enough keyholders that the lounge is open on fixed evenings every week.
- A full calendar that nobody has to carry alone.
After that
- A funded part-time person, so that somebody is there every weekday evening.
- The place in Hagenberg where life happens after five.
Not ready for a role?
Then just come. Every event is open, and most people who end up running something started by turning up. Becoming a member is the other easy way to help.
